It has been ridiculously long since I've posted, and I must confess this post has an ulterior motive.  I'm trying to pull any expertise any of you might have on a few medical questions and math questions.

Why you ask?  I'm not working on any fanfic right now, but I am writing a spec script for Numb3rs (for my writing class and hopefully my portfolio), and there are a few things I'm trying to work out and I thought some of you might have a few answers or some directions to point me.

Medical questions for any of you in the field........how long do you think someone could reasonably survive without medical care after having been shot in the thigh?  And I sort of need that person to still be reasonably functioning......  

Is there any source out there that would give me a very readable description of what blood loss would do to the body, like what would blood flow look like as compared to normal blood flow or heart function, lung function etc etc.  I want to center a Charlie vision around it, but I need some visuals that will help me do that.

Okay, and a math question.......would kind of equation/function might help Charlie determine the best point of egress if they're being pinned down by sniper fire and are kind of backed into a corner.......is there any math function (or one I can fake) that would help him figure out where the gunman might be positioning himself to give him the most coverage on the house he's firing on........

And I totally need some Numb3rs icons........ =)

It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year since I started this story.  Thank you for taking this journey with me, and thank you so much for all your wonderful and supportive feedback.  It's hard to say goodbye to this one, as much as I needed to finish it.  However, Jordan and Laila will be back.......watch for them :)

How about another chapter of Fumbling Towards Ecstasy?  :-)

So, Saturday I'm in Target buying a few things for my friend's bridal shower from her registry, and I pause by the dustbusters in the small appliances section.  For some unknown reason, I'm utterly drawn to purchase said dustbuster.  Now, you must understand, that I in no way shape or form love to clean.  In fact, it's like pulling teeth to get me to do so.  I mean, I have to be desperate not to write anything, in serious procrastination from that deathly blank computer screen to move me to think that cleaning the house would be preferable.  And yet, tonight, I found myself running all over the house with that damn dustbuster.  I couldn't stop myself.  The way it just sucks everything right up--it's addictive!!  Nothing would make me happier than to dusbust my whole house.  Such satisfaction watching dustbunnies and cat hair whirling around in that little see through window.  I'm in love!!!!!  

And I think I finally understand Monica Gellar.......

Chapter 21 of Fire and Rain.....

I just finished a marathon viewing of Supernatural's season 2.  At some point early on this past season, I missed an ep, and then I missed another ep, and I decided to just wait and get caught up on DVD and watch GA instead on Thursday nights.  Boy oh boy, did Supernatural's season ever outshine GA's.  Now I wish I'd missed several of GA's eps and tuned into Supernatural instead.  I could have saved myself some pain and had extraordinarly good television every week instead.  (Obviously I couldn't wait for the DVD's--watched it online <g>).
